The importance of vitamin B 12

Vitamin B 12 is one of the b vitamins that are essential for the maintenance of a healthy body. Also called cobalamin, 12 b vitamin is necessary for the process for carbohydrates, lipids and proteins of the power supply. 12 (b), more important still, also helps red blood cells and therefore to prevent diseases of the heart as well as to keep the immune system works to the maximum level. In addition, 12 b is used to create the protective coating of all nerve cells in the body.

The main function of 12 b is healthy red blood cells to form. However, all the cells need 12 b to keep them in good health. It is white, among other things, cells that b need 12 to ensure that the immune system works properly. Also, all of the nerve cells in the body 12 b their protective layer of fat. This is essential for all of the nerves but is as much for those in the brain. If there is not sufficient 12 b to create this protective layer, then the brain will not operate correctly.

Is interesting, the amount of 12 b that the body needs is relatively small but is needed on a regular basis. However, 12 b on its own is not enough that the body can absorb easily. To help the body absorb 12 b the stomach produces intrinsic factor which enables more 12 b be absorbed. 12 (b) is found only in food animals such as liver, eggs, fish and meat, but most people consume a lot more that their daily quantity recommended by 12 b. is not a problem if the body is that about half of the 12 b can absorb is consumed. It is also noted that the body can recycle the 12 b which has the effect of a 12 decreases deficiency b. strict vegetarians or vegans are, however, probably need 12 b supplements if they eat not the products of animal origin that contain a 12 b.

If the body is not enough 12 b then the clearest symptom of anaemia. Obviously, this is due to the fact that there is not sufficient 12 b is healthy red blood cells. Anemia can also be caused by the body not creating not enough intrinsic factor to help absorb the 12 b which consumed food is available. The body tends to makes less intrinsic factor, one time a person reaches 50 and this will lead to less 12 b be absorbed and supplements of 12 b may be required. Children are also anaemia risk because they cannot eat the foods that contain a 12 b. pregnant women need more 12 b because the baby is absorbing 12 b during the pregnancy to grow properly.
